Controlla is a seed-stage, VC-funded music tech startup building interactive songs that allow fans to control—and participate in—music from the creators they love. Fans can directly support artists, and both fans and artists can benefit from the creation of derivative works as remixes, collaborations, memes, and more.
Controlla is developing a new music format, a new business model, and a new relationship framework for the future of music.
The job
Controlla is seeking an audience builder to create and manage community with music creators, producers, artists, and social followers. This is an opportunity to be a founding-stage contributor to a company riding multiple waves of dramatic social, technological, and commercial disruption.
At its core, the job is building a creator community through digital strategies, tactics, and partnerships. You will support, educate, and advocate for the creator community and their fans. You will design, build, deploy, and maintain initiatives to attract, engage, and delight music creators and fans. You will do this through education, events and other innovative forms of communication.
You will do
- Strategy: create a community marketing strategy that will help build an engaged community of music creators and fans, and be responsible for bringing it to life.
- Leadership: be the face of the community, whether online or at physical events, evangelize about what the community can do to help creators and fans.
- Management; manage communities across relevant channels, including Discord, Tik Tok, Reddit, Twitter, and LinkedIn (and others as required).
- Onboarding: create processes and FAQs to onboard new creators and fans so they get the most out of our community.
- Retention: build educational resources to help our community grow their knowledge in a creative and engaging way.
- Moderation: moderate community content and surface great creator and fan stories to the wider community.
- Superfans: identify community leaders and empower them to add more value to the community.
- Research: establish a framework for getting feedback from the community, using these insights to improve the community and our products and services.
- Growth: execute marketing campaigns to drive community growth, including social media, newsletters, SMS, and other engagement channels.
